The system was developed and implemented in just a few weeks at D Commerce Bank

Last week, a key technological breakthrough in the Bulgarian financial sector was presented – the implementation of the first fully autonomous Agentic AI, which manages the entire bulk payments process at D Commerce Bank.

The solution represents a significant evolution compared with traditional automation and API integrations. Instead of simply connecting systems, the new Agentic AI takes over full orchestration of the process – from the upload of customer data, through its validation and deduplication, to AML checks and regulatory control, culminating in execution in the core banking system.

The system operates through multiple control points and performs dynamic real-time reassessments, including with regard to compliance with regulatory requirements. Full traceability of every step is also ensured. Human intervention is no longer required for the execution itself and remains only at the level of supervision, within the so-called “human-in-control” model.

The effect of the implementation goes beyond the standard benefits of automation – the processing time for bulk payments has been reduced from hours to minutes, and the freed-up operational resources allow employees to be redeployed to higher value-added activities such as sales, advisory services and customer service.

“This is not just another automation, but a fundamental change in the way banks operate. Agentic AI enables us to achieve higher efficiency, tighter control and better customer service at the same time. We believe this is the future of banking, and we are already seeing it in action, first at DBank. And this is only the beginning!” commented Nikolay Spasov, CEO of the Bank.

The results include an improved customer experience, strengthened compliance control and a significantly more scalable operating model. The concept of Agentic Banking is thus moving from theory to real application in a production environment in the Bulgarian banking system.
