Dear Customers,
Bulgaria’s accession to the eurozone on 01 January 2026 is accompanied by a number of technical and organisational changes aimed at ensuring a smooth transition to the new currency, for which DBank will put in place special working arrangements during the holidays.
During the period 31 December 2025 – 03 January 2026, the banking systems will be reconfigured to operate in euro. Over the holidays, cards can be used at ATMs, for payments at POS terminals and online, including on New Year’s Eve, except for a short interval for technical reconfiguration, with temporary interruptions expected between 21:00 on 31 December 2025 and 00:30 on 01 January 2026. After this period, all card payments will be made in euro and ATMs will dispense only banknotes in the new currency.
During the migration of the banking system, it is important to know the following:
Card payments
After the technical reconfiguration interval, which will begin at 23:00 on 31 December 2025 and last until 00:15 on 01 January 2026, the card systems will be reactivated after 01:00 on 01 January 2026, when customers will be able to make card payments in euro freely.
DBank recommends that its customers ensure sufficient funds are available on their cards before the holidays and keep some cash in leva for their convenience. We would remind you that lev banknotes and coins may be used freely throughout January 2026, during the dual circulation period.
ATMs
All of the Bank’s ATMs will dispense amounts in leva until the end of 2025, and from the first hours of 2026 it will be possible to withdraw amounts in euro only. ATMs with a deposit function will accept leva only until 31.12.2025, and from 20.01.2026 it will be possible to deposit only banknotes in the new currency.
The Bank’s digital channels – DOnline and DMobile
All transfers submitted via DOnline or DMobile will be accepted for execution by the Bank until 14:00 on 30.12.2025. By 15:00 on 30.12.2025, all customers will be able to see in D Online and DMobile the execution of their payments ordered by 14:00,
From 15:00 on 30.12.2025 until the end of the day on 03.01.2026, you will not have access to the Bank’s digital channels DOnline and DMobile due to technical preparations for the changeover to the new currency, the euro.
Bank offices
– from 24.12.2025 to 28.12.2025 inclusive, all DBank offices will be closed;
– on 29.12.2025, all offices will operate standard working hours from 8.30 to 17.00;
– on 30.12.2025, customer service hours at all offices will be until 12.00.
Please note that the times indicated are estimates and services may be restored earlier or later. DBank will continue to maintain active communication and to inform its customers of all details relating to the euro changeover process.
