Documentary collection

Documentary collection, which is divided into two types - export collection and import collection, is a form of payment when presenting the required documents.

Documentary collection on export is the processing by the bank of commercial documents on export vs. payment or vs. payment of a certain maturity / acceptance of a bill of exchange in accordance with the written instructions received from the exporter in order to obtain payment from the bank to the foreign buyer.

When processing a documentary collection, the bank is responsible for the execution of the given orders and undertakes to keep the documents, but has no obligation to check their form and suitability, to keep / insure the goods or to check whether the documents are authentic.

Documentary collection on import is the transfer of commercial documents to the importer, received from the bank of the exporter vs. payment or vs. payment of a certain maturity / acceptance of a bill of exchange depending on the exporter's instructions.

When processing a documentary collection, the bank is responsible for the execution of the given orders and undertakes to keep the documents, but has no obligation to check their form and suitability, to keep / insure the goods or to check whether the documents are authentic.
